Why This Resource Exists
Public release information in Minnesota is spread across systems with different duties. The Big Stone County Sheriff can identify local arrest and transport records, while the jail that actually held a person may own the physical release transaction. Minnesota DOC publishes information about people in prison or still under its authority after prison. Court files explain bond, disposition, sentence, and discharge. Probation or supervised-release offices may hold the next record, and federal releases use BOP or other federal channels. This site organizes those sources, request steps, and limits in one place.
